When you pick up food that you already have in your beard storage it goes into your inventory instead of beard storage. Also if your slots are full it puts food on the ground instead of storage so you then have to empty your inventory in order to pick up the food then place it into storage.
Steps to Reproduce
Place item such as carrot in beard storage then pick up another carrot. Do this with a full inventory to see them stay on floor instead of go into beard.
