DST on MacOS will not detect any controller

For over a month I have been unable to play DST on my Mac Mini (current generation) with controllers (Dualsense, Nintendo Switch Pro, Xbox Series X) I've previously been able to connect and play. In Settings, the only Input Device available is Keyboard and Mouse, which I have no desire or joy playing the game with. Controller support is just not available in game for me despite reinstalling Steam and DST itself, and trying out other controllers to attempt to have the game accept them as an input. I even bought a "supported" controller, the Xbox Series X controller, and the game would not read it.

If Klei can help me out here, I'd really appreciate it. The game runs great on my MacOS computer.

Steps to Reproduce

Attempt to use a controller as the input device while on MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1.

Same here. Please Klei. I really didn't expect Don't Starve not to work with controllers on Mac full stop. This is crazy no? The game begs for use with controllers and every other game I have works fine with controllers on Mac? Googling the issue suggests that issue has been around forever? Could you please give us an update? 

In terms of my bug report, I've tried with both an Xbox One and a Elite Series 2 on both a 2014 MacBook Pro running the latest Big Sur and an M1 Max (2022) running the latest Sonoma (14.3.1 (23D60) at the time of writing). Steam reports that the controllers work great and other games have no problems. I've tried with and without Steam Xbox controller translation but neither work. DST simply only reports Keyboard/mouse as the only input option. Even tried adding controller = true/false to the client.ini as someone online reported it could trigger DST in recognising a controllers presence but no dice.

I have the same issue but with my ps4 controller on my Mac. It worked before the update. I´ve tried almost everything and nothing seems to be working. This last update really screwed things up for many people...

My issue has been resolved.! After bootup of the application, game prompted the use of controller.
