dontstarve_steam.exe has stopped working

Don't Starve Together has been refusing to work for a few months now. When I launch it, the screen is completely black, and when a window pops up saying 'dontstarve_steam.exe has stopped working. Windows is trying to find a solution to the problem.' only it can't find a solution so it just crashes.

I've uninstalled and re-installed, restarted my computer, changed and deleted files, verified integrity of game cache, deleted and re-downloaded local content, and I don't have any mods installed whatsoever, yet it still refuses to work. Please help!

(if it helps at all, I have Windows 7 and version 176665)

Steps to Reproduce
I launch the game and it just won't work, only opens to a black screen and then won't work.

@sammyjoy8, welcome to the forums.

Could you please attach your DxDiag.txt as well.

In order to get a DXDiag on Windows:
- Click on your Start button
- Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to access the "Run" window
- On the new window, type in dxdiag.exe and press enter; this will open up the DirectX diagnostic tool
- Click on the "Save All Information" tab on the diagnostic tool
- A "Save As..." window will pop up where you can click on save. It will save your hardware information as a document to your desktop (default).
- Close the diagnostic tool and attach the new document.
