Don't Starve Together won't open since update.

Since the newest update, trying to launch the game just does nothing. Doesn't matter if I open it from the steam library or my desktop, nothing happens. I tried opting out of the beta and that doesn't make a difference either. Next I tried verifying my game files, but I can't even do that. Clicking the button does absolutely nothing. I haven't downloaded anything since the last time I played dst (no new anitvirus, drivers, or anything of the sort), so the only thing it could have been was downloading the update itself. I've seen some comments on the steam announcement for the update describing the same issue.
