Default left click hover action on befriended clockworks is "Attack"

Biskit
  • Pending

As titlte says, after recruiting some clockworks, its really painful to click anywhere, like trying to click on chests or crockpots, as a slight misclick, could mean an angry rook charging through the base.

Thanks in advance

Steps to Reproduce

Repair/recruit some clockworks, then hover over them, and click on them

That is intended behavior, example: a follower beefalo without a saddle, or a follower pig. Left clicking is attack by default, unless it is a beefalo with a saddle.

One clarification, attack action is the left click only if you are holding a weapon or a walking cane. Without a walking cane / or while holding an umbrella the default is examine.

This is absolutely not intended behavior. Please stop spreading misinformation without any knowledge about the mechanics.
The clockworks have a hostile tag by default which does not get removed when they get tamed.

This is also incorrect. Again, you are confusing the devs by spreading misinformation. Please stop, if there is any issue or it is intended, it is up to the Klei developers to speak on that.image.png.7109343029fbfba83f0fec7a13981f9b.png

You are right in the bug presence. The clockworks do not change the action of hovering over from attack to examining.

But this behaviour does not say anything about other followers and what is supposed to happen when a hostile mob becomes a follower. So logically, if followers have Examine always on hover, it should not matter that the entity is hostile when it is not a follower. Also a consideration: having the Chessmaster circuit does not change the hover over behaviour, although it is supposed to make them neutral and follow the expection rules of other neutral mobs.

As a side note, the beefalo and pigman behaviours were changed in the latest updates, so the cane/umbrella distinctions are now irrelevant when they are followers, both are examine. It still is true for neutral mobs as the start (pigman, beefalo) and spacial agression (merms).

I hope that is a meaningful feedback for this bug.
