Crash upon rerolling with the Moon Rock Idol

Here is a crash I received, which, to my surprise, did not include a mod ID in the backtrace:

[string "scripts/components/playerprox.lua"]:70: attempt to index field 'target' (a nil value)
LUA ERROR stack traceback:
scripts/components/playerprox.lua:70 in (field) targetmode (Lua) <62-76>
scripts/components/playerprox.lua:200 in (method) ForceUpdate (Lua) <198-202>
scripts/components/playerprox.lua:213 in (method) OnEntityWake (Lua) <211-214>
    scripts/mainfunctions.lua:727 in () ? (Lua) <699-731>

I was using several mods, although they have all been very stable and reliable.

The full backtrace is in the log file at line 9124.

Steps to Reproduce

I was on a test world messing around with the new B.U.D.D.Y. plant tending feature. While it was playing, I rerolled with the Celestial Portal and a Moon Rock Idol, switching characters from Wendy to WX-78 to test if he interacted with the B.U.D.D.Y. as shown in the new trailer video.

Spoiler

Though, nothing seemed to happen, at least not on a WX-78 with no skills assigned (and I haven't tried it with the celestial WX-78 bots yet).

Anyways, I dropped a bunch of various items when I rerolled; farming equipment, miscellaneous foods, a Krampus Sack, a glossamer saddle/saddlehorn and brush, and an Enlightened Crown, amongst some other junk items. Then, I clicked on WX-78 and looked at the skill tree, took a screenshot, and pressed "Go". When the game tried to spawn in WX, it gave me that crash. I then proceeded to reload my save with a mod, and all seemed fine again, rolling back to when I was still Wendy.

The B.U.D.D.Y. was toggled on and playing music, if that matters for the proximity check. I am not exactly sure what else could have caused this. There was a Beefalo nearby with a Gourmet Salt Lick, a small farm plot, spotlight and generator, and a bunch more Moon Rock Idols scattered on the ground.

I couldn't get this issue to reproduce more than that one time.

I'm running Don't Starve Together on a Steam Deck OLED in desktop mode. This happened on a locally hosted Forest-only test world.

User Feedback

This is indeed a mod issue. The crash was caused by a Suspicious Dirt Pile that had its functions overwritten by Animal Tracker mod (mentioned at the lines 9127 and 9129 of the client log).
