I'm at a loss. I have tried everything I could find online to do, but alas nothing fixes this issue. I have tried 3 different controllers, reinstalled the software and prayed to the gods.. All controllers are recognised by steam and in the controller options all button presses are registered accordingly. I tried different templates and changed the way the controller is recognised in the settings. No change whatsoever
I've basically given up. I feel like this is a very specific issue that I won't discover unless I spend more time on it that I don't want to. Playing with the controller is the only way I really like to play this game, so I probably will move on from this game all together, unless someone comes with a miracle cure that was as of yet unbeknownst... I doubt it though. I hope sharing this can help the team to fix the issue for others in the future, and I guess to share my lament with a glimmer of hope for change 
I'm running macOS Sequoia 15.2 on a MacBook Pro 14-inch 2021. The controller I'm currently using is the 8bitdo pro 2
