Connection to Klei Failed

I can't connect to Klei's servers to play online worlds. 
I am playing through Steam and after the recent update I have found myself unable to connect to the game. 
By the way, I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Many players from Russia can't connect to servers, so they go to Steam discussions to try to find a solution to this problem.
We can't connect to the game for almost a week now.
