Connection issues in fullscreen

When I start Don’t starve together on my PC via Steam, it seems that i can’t log into my account and says that steam is offline.

In fact when I try to log in, my whole internet connection breaks down, meaning I have no Wi-fi and can’t fix it. (There is no problem with my router or what so ever)

This seems to happen only when running DST in FULLSCREEN mode because the connection loss won’t happen in Windowed mode.

I have deinstalled all mods and checked that my firewall does not interfere.

I am running on Windows 10 64 bit

I would like to keep on playing in fullscreen mode and hope you could find a way to help me out
