Can't place boats/trawlers (sony controller on ubuntu)

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04, playing with a Sony controller, and there's this placement bug. When I'm on land I can't place things on the ocean. When I'm using mouse and keyboard, everything's alright.

Steps to Reproduce

I crafted a boat and tried to place it. There are no other problems with the game, just this particular bug.

the old fisher

I am experiencing with the same when playing game. My setup is MacBook M2 and PS5 controller. I have to switch to keyboard/mouse in order to place the boats. Have not figure out an alternative solution yet.
