Can't heal brightshades

This is true. I'm not sure if it is intended, but there is a workaround:
build walls around the brightshade with a gate in the center, then move past the opened gate toward the brightshade, and close the gate. it will push you closer to the brightshade, so that you will be in healing range.
either kill the vines repeatedly, or tank the vines damage.
it is worth it if you are trying to protect a farm brightshade in your base from dying (this is relevant in long term post-rift worlds).

Small addition: if you are the host or an admin, and you dont mind using commands to workaround this issue, you can also use a noclip command to be able to reach the brightshade with your healing item. For instance, you can use the invisibility feature from the 'admin scoreboard' client(/admin only) mod.
