So after a lot of testing, redownloading, validating, updating everything possible. I was able to figure out that it was my internet provider blocking me from connecting to the world my friend was hosting. After entering the caves, the game will black screen and crash then I won't be able to connect to servers and play at all unless I change my internet to my mobile's hotspot. It also seems to occur only after 8pm at night for some reason? I've reset my router multiple times.
Play don't starve normally, attempt to enter caves sometime after 8pm.
Game crashes.
No longer able to join servers and play at all, unless I change my internet.
Leave caves, connet back to original router, I'm able to play normally on the surface world I just can't enter the caves at all.
Following day, playing during the day around midday I'm able to play normally and enter caves.
