Cannot use any input other than "steam deck"

The whole point of the steam deck is freedom to customize the controls.

I have tried to use keyboard and mouse but the game ignores my inputs. Please let steam deck users select other inputs in controls.

I can't use the touchpads as a mouse,  I can't use the console. This is significantly making the steam deck THE WORST way to play DST.

Even consoles like switch have a lock on function but Steam Deck lacks that AND the freedom of customizable controls to emulate being a keyboard and mouse. 

Steps to Reproduce

Launch the game on a steam deck, in both gaming mode and desktop mode the game refuses to let you use any inputs other than "steam deck"

If DST detects you're on a Steam Deck it forces controller mapping, but I have managed to run the game as a PC and use the Steam Deck input mapping by switching the compatibility mode (see link).  You will be able to use keyboard, or controller with trackpad mappings, etc, as you can in other games.
