Bearger's GroundPound deals multiple damage to same entity

Normal damage:

Player stand close to a Bearger. Bearger use GroundPound. The Player takes 100 damage.

 

Multiple damage example A:

Player riding a Beefalo stand close to a Bearger. Bearger use GroundPound. The Beefalo takes 200 damage.

 

Multiple damage example A:

Player with a bee stand close to a Bearger. Bearger use GroundPound. The Player takes 200 damage.

 

Is it a bug? Or is it supposed to deal multiple damage if there are more than one entities in damageRings?
