Twintailed Hearts Respawn Penalty is broken

crushcircuit
  • Known Issue

the respawn penalty of Twintailed Hearts is based off of the player who uses it, not the player who made it.

Steps to Reproduce

i'll give two tested scenarios where this is evident.

Scenario 1:

  1. Person A, playing Wortox, makes a Twintailed Heart. A has the Lifebringer I, II, and III skills
  2. A gives Person B, who is not playing Wortox, the Twintailed Heart
  3. Person A dies
  4. Person B uses the fully spec'd Twintailed Heart to revive Person A
  5. Person A is revived with respawn penalty.

Scenario 2:

  1. Wortox A makes a Twintailed Heart. A has Lifebringer I, but not any of the other Lifebringer skills
  2. Wortox B picks up Wortox A's Twintailed Heart. B has the Lifebringer I, II, and III skills
  3. Wortox B uses Wortox A's Twintailed Heart to revive another player
  4. The player is revived without respawn penalty.

User Feedback

It is working as it was designed but it may be better to change it so that it is attached to the item on creation rather than the person using the item.

@JesseB_Klei I have a suggestion that also fixes this
I usually have 1 insight point left. And I like to get the Lifebringer I. But I realized, it still has the health penalty. So I could have teleported and easily made a telltale heart, and spent that 1 point on another skill.
I understand that it's still more convenient, but here's my idea, that also improves Lifebringer 2 which feels a bit of a filler skill:
Lifebringer 1: gets the perk of Lifebringer 2 (so a heart without health penalty, regardless of who uses it, since it spoils)
which a life giving amulet does the same without spoilage and is not a character special perk
and so we already spent 10 souls for the heart, and now the player is at 50 hp and need healing, so I have to stay there and drop further souls for them, while other players need healing.
this can be a perk for Lifebringer 2: reviving others with a wortox that has this skill, will drizzle some of that souls around them, so they get some hp back (which can be half the amount of souls dropped on squeeze, which is based on the freshness)
