The gestalts of the defenders cannot be studied without attacking them.

I thought since part of the beta is about Gelstalts, it would be a good time to mention this. This applies to both the Guardian Gelstalts in caves and the new Gelstalts.

It's a bit weird that you can't study them without attacking them. We can see Guardian Gelstalts in both frenzy and normal/high sanity, unlike regular Gelstalts that only appear when sanity is high. In the video, I tried pressing  shift or ctrl to try to study them.

Maybe this is planned, but it's still a bit weird that we can only study them after attacking them.
