The snap effect will not drop giants' aggro, which I'm unsure if it's a feature but, the fact that the whip only has a 5% chance to proc on them makes me think it's not intended.
This would be a really useful tool for this fight! After downing the Weevils one could try their luck with the whip, and if it procs, it'd give the player a window to push the balls into the slots without getting harassed. It's such a niche item please give it a single good use 
Steps to Reproduce
Hit a guard tower with the tail o' three cats, proc the effect and watch as they continue attacking you
