In the latest beta version, the new circuit type "Expansive Storage Unit" has several critical issues that allow item abuse, duplication, and even game crashes. (Video evidance: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EOdUCG4NEzpzo7mCsIqrJc5yTVGo_4hI/view?usp=drive_link better expirience with 1.5x-2x.)
-
Slots behave like normal inventory items
-
The storage slots from the Expansive Storage Unit are treated as regular items instead of a separate storage interface.
-
Because of this, players can pick them up, move them, and drop them freely.
-
-
Item duplication via body swapping / inventory transfer
-
By moving these storage slots between bodies, it is possible to duplicate them (maybe their content too).
-
This leads to unintended item multiplication.
-
-
Storage nesting ("matryoshka" behavior)
-
Expansive Storage Units can be placed inside other Expansive Storage Units.
-
This creates recursive storage chains that should not be possible.
-
-
Self-insertion causes crash
-
It is possible to place a storage unit into itself.
-
Doing so results in a game crash.
-
-
Enter the latest beta version of Don't Starve Together.
-
Obtain and install the Expansive Storage Unit circuit.
-
Open the storage interface.
-
Attempt to interact with storage slots:
-
Pick up a slot as if it were a normal inventory item.
-
Move it within inventory or drop it on the ground.
-
-
Transfer these slots between bodies.
-
Place one Expansive Storage Unit inside another.
-
Attempt to place a storage unit inside itself.
