Black Map Bug

AveHortor
  • Known Issue

The map suddenly went black when I loaded in, wasn't even an issue earlier today.

It randomly happens and persists forever.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a world before an update which changes water content

2. Bring said "old" world into an update that changes oceans/water/etc.

3. Watch as the map breaks randomly.

Do you have an AMD Radeon RX 5500, 5600, 5700, or 6700 XT graphics card? If you are not sure what you have could you upload your client_log.txt file? Not yet. From what I know and have investigated it is a hardware limitation for how many points can be used for the shader to reveal the map which would require a reworking of how the map is handled on the engine side.

I have recently been having the same issue, directly after finding moon quay, my map started wigging out... rolling back the server sometimes solved the issue, but upon reloading the world, it is still a problem, it just doesn't always present itself on the map... The bugged portion of the map remains in the same place. I'm not sure if this world was retrofitted, I think I made it after the moon quay update...but I don't remember. I have AMD Radeon RX 5600m as my graphics card.1177316896_Screenshot(183).thumb.png.5a19903581b96c3f3033ba49039fa729.png
