The beefalo duplication exploit using the Whirlpool and W.I.N.bot has never been fully resolved. To patch this issue previously, developers disabled placing W.I.N.bot into Bundling Wraps. However, we have discovered a workaround: put the bell-carrying W.I.N.bot inside a backpack, then throw the backpack into the Whirlpool to duplicate beefalo.
Steps to Reproduce
- Select Winona and bring the beefalo you want to duplicate. Sail a boat close to the Whirlpool and stay nearby.
- Place a chest on the boat, and put one Beefalo Bell inside it.
- Take a second Beefalo Bell to bind the target beefalo, then leave this bell on the boat.
- Spawn W.I.N.bot. Pick up W.I.N.bot immediately after it picks up the bell but before it stores the item into the chest.
- Deploy a new boat and craft a backpack. Place the bell-equipped W.I.N.bot into the backpack, set the backpack on the boat, then sail the boat into the Whirlpool.
- Once the backpack enters the Whirlpool, use another Beefalo Bell to re-bind the original beefalo. Enter the Whirlpool and search through the debris. When you retrieve the backpack, a new beefalo will spawn, and the duplicate Beefalo Bell will be found inside W.I.N.bot’s inventory within the backpack.
