Watering can No option to fill

In the Nintendo switch version of Don't Starve together it will not give me the option to fill my watering can. I go to a pond or river and it only allows me to equip, inspect, or drop. I tried rotating my camera to different angles and also going around to different spots but still no luck. There is no information anywhere on how to fix this problem. I need help desperately.
