Is there a way to create explosions by punching?

I've done a little bit of research, unarmed attacks are possible, and spawning in explosions without explosives is possible. Is there a way to spawn in an explosion when the player unarmed melee's an enemy or an object like a boulder or tree, without damaging the player?
