Late-Game uses for Seeds and more elaborate Farmers

Currently, you scavenge for seeds early game, and come mid-game, you have seeds just sitting in your compactors and have no more use for it.

Additionally, beyond the Farming Station and increased Farming speed, there is little use in highly trained Farmers. I like the way you guys took it with the new high-rank jobs that are required for specific tasks, because it means you have to plan your colony around it.

Now if both of these things are looked at simultaneously, one could think of a new Job that requires a basic Scientist training and first level of Farmer training to become some sort of a Plot Cultivator. This guy gets a new station that uses large amounts of seeds and evolves them. This could either mean that (e.g.) mealwood attended by Farmers are evolved or a new seed is produced by the station, which then slowly has to be cultivated in Farm slots.

There could be a whole new tree there:

  • Different requirements for temperature
  • Higher kcal yields
  • Less irrigation
  • No light required (or even a new requirement for lighting to make it not just a flat bonus)
  • Faster blossoming
