How to add perks to custom character

I've been looking for this on this forum and on steam and I cant find any help. I just started creating a character and i want to add custom perks, the problem is I don't know where do i have to add them. I can't find any info on the file(s) I need to edit, all the posts asking for perk help are for their specific perks and there's no info on what are the files to edit or where to find them. I think i can manage the coding by myself but i cant try if i don't know where to put or change the code

what exactly is a perk, you mean the things that are shown on the character select menu?

so wait, like how webber can eat monster meat and is friends with spiders, and wigfrid can only eat meat, and wickerbottom can read books, and willow is immune to fire?

 

thats in your [character name].lua file in scripts>prefabs

if you mean the *perk1*perk2*perk3 thats on the character select screen that's modmain.lua in the first page

Yeah the "ability" to do those things is in the prefab here as OliveBread says, whereas the "description" of those abilities that you read in the character select screen is in the modmain.lua.

But what if I want to get the ability to br freinds with spiders like webber? Is there a way to do that?
