WhatAFan
A couple pain points I'm finding in the order of 1 being the most important to me: 1. Theres a bug where I can't sweep some polluted water even after setting it to lvl 9 priority. dont want to empty it because it happens to be over my clean water pond. Its driving me crazy because its putting out polluted oxygen. Hella annoying. 2. Temperature control is not rewarding. I made a thermo regulator which is the latest game coolant and blowing it over mealwoods but they still were overheated which is crazy because the air inside vents was 17.3 C. Granted, this was done in a hot biome but only after everything surrounding it was mined out. In my opinion if you have late game tech you should be able to terraform a biome however you want. I think the temperature control structures need a buff. Oh and I also had cooled water, illumination and the hvac blowing on bristles and it still was a no go. If I put that much effort into cooling plants I should be rewarded with some bristles imo. 3. Feels difficult to control and issue commands at later stages of the game. People don't do anything with priority 6 or above. I wonder if its possible to do something like "zones of jobs"? And then the ability to choose number of duplicants working on a zone. For example I want 2 duplicants to be mining slime and maintaining the slime machines at all time, 2 guys to be on cooking duty with automatic sweeping of food into fridge. Etc. 4. Water always gets consumed. Theres always a deficit in my water economy and among the many other struggles it feels difficult to manage this limited resource. I've maxed out the resource tree and I'm not seeing anything that can change this. Its something I'm finding very hard to manage. 5. Plumbing logic is weird I'd like the ability to make it directional. Sometimes it bounces back and forth not knowing where to go. If there is a cross piping sometimes the water alternates between inputs instead of just merging together. It was annoying because 1 pump should be fine but I'd like the ability to control the speed of water in the pipes. Being forced to make a pump per water sieve is annoying. 6. Better documentation. Though it is early access but for a nerd like me, that wiki is really important. One detail I don't like is how everything is in grams so I have to do more math, which because I'm a nerd I'll do the math on how much algae I need and when do I need to run out but its not that fun of a calculation to do. 7. Not so much a pain point: Stress is overly easy to manage in my opinion. I have a room setup with 5 cots 5 paintings and 6 sculptures (a sculpture in between each cot) and I've forgotten about it. 8. All I see around me are the 3: slime, cold, hot biomes. It would be nicer if there would be a rarer normal biome after a while. Lastly, more of a business suggestion: I wonder if you can cut out a lot of the extras on the roadmap, focus on fixing the bugs and get the solid content going. Then add story and tech expansions as a dlc. I think the game is hella fun and want to see a pristine product but also I think this game would be more profitable if you had ongoing developer support for it to fix bugs and create new content in dlc. For example, the last automation release was cool but I wonder how much adoption there is for it. Something like this could've been in a dlc imo as its not part of the core gameplay. I'm sure your creative board has way more ideas on what to add but I think balancing and bug fixes of core gameplay is before neat things that people would probably pay for. Overall, really fun survival game. Completely happy with the value I'm getting and feel like I've gotten my moneys worth in the time I've played it already.
