Starting the game with a Pet

No, this isn't a suggestion. This is a post wondering if anyone else has ever started a new game with a creature (edit - make that creatures!) in the starting area? (where the printing pod is). I haven't played the game as much as others, so not that many new game starts (maybe ~20 I'd say), but I've never come across a creature in the starting area before. I assumed the starting area was fixed and identical each new game start, but maybe I was wrong?

Edit - Lol, make that two starting pets. As I just started playing this game and all of a sudden another Hatch appeared! I then checked the screenshot and there are indeed two Hatches there. One was surprising enough, but two? Starting to think this is more likely to be a bug now.

I've attached a screenshot of the intruder, along with the starting save file. I'm posting this here rather than in bugs as a creature in the starting area might be WAD and not a rarity for all I know (since as I said I haven't started enough new games to know if this is a true oddity or not).
