It would be a cool way to get some more paintings in the game. Night Watchman Posted March 19, 2017 Share Posted March 19, 2017 While I can't draw, I think some more recognisable paintings in dupe form would make for great artwork Examples: Edvard Munch - "Scream" (personal favourite) Johannes Vermeer - "Girl with a Pearl Earring" Sandro Bottichelli - "The Birth of Venus" (perhaps emerging from a printer?) James Whistler - "Whistler's Mother" Grant Wood - "American Gothic" I think that since art imitates life, life should imitate art. Imperfect clones of people should create imperfect clones of paintings. Plus it's pretty funny. Portraits would definitely be easier to reimagine too, but maybe landscapes with recognisable ONI structures in their places. Perhaps the images can be swapped out for new ones from time to time as well if the devs were willing. unArtist Posted March 19, 2017 Share Posted March 19, 2017 when enabled: It could use steam shop… on the other hand: i like klei games, cause they have a very unique and self-contained art style from very talented artists (with a little to much fun with pooping ^^ (look up arts tream on twitch from ONI ^^)) user content could be sometimes off hand and many entries need much time or even a community person for hire to look through all that stuff… i know most art community sites, and most stuff is.. kinda meh.. from a professional side.. also there is the problem with copyright .. some artworks have still copyright and that can become troublesome to look up every artwork (could be handled with good and strict community guidelines indeed) even Warhol was sued over the use of a photograph of Marylin from the photographer (and rightly so), even when i want to have Warhol - "Marilyn" in the game.. someone on a stream suggested this.. would be Duilyn in different colours.. and perfect for the overusage of canvas ingame and right in the spirit of Warhol ^^ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/76455-community-made-paintings-for-the-canvas-in-game/#findComment-887546 Share on other sites More sharing options...
