Caps Lock Posted March 1, 2017 Share Posted March 1, 2017 Alright, so this is my first post here heh, i apologize if this thread shouldn't be here. I recently bought DST with a group of friends, we've been trying to play but one of them in particular experiences horrible lag when we play together, if i host, his game is unplayable, and if we play in a dedicated server he eventually spikes anyways, i've told him to play in windowed mode in a smaller resolution, but he says he can't change the resolution, it stays locked at 1200x or so. He has played solo and has no lag at all. My other friend has no problem whatsoever (he plays windowed too). It's really frustating since i don't know what could be his problem, if it's location (we all live in different countries) or something else, we've played other online games together so this is the first time we've had this much difficulty trying to get a game going. There can be many causes (poor internet connection, computer lag, low ram, different time zone ect.). it might not be the game itself. Yeah i'm aware it's not the game's fault, but it's sorta frustating since i've tried to help such friend but we go nowhere, he insists it's not his internet (he plays another SW game online with a good ping and the players are all from other countries), and well, we resorted to dedicated servers but he also seems to have problems with those. Since it's not really *my* issue, i don't know what to do, or why he's locked on a very high res when trying to play on windowed. Might be just a very heavy load the game puts on his PC, but i doubt it since we've played more games together with no issue. inkball Posted March 5, 2017 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Well me and my wife are playing in lan and server gets laggy at day 50+ I let her host cause im a better gamer/kiter and now we are in a 200+ day game and it just gets unplayable. Internet isnt an issue since we are in a lan ( +/- 0 ping), and her computer shouldnt be an issue neither: i7-4790k 16go ddr3 r9 280x and on my side cpus are getting busy at 60-80%+ (i5-6600k (and my gtx980 just dont care)), but it shoud be running crystal clear... can it be caused by the game it self ?
