Option to Disable Automatic Validation and Updating of Workshop Mods

I am sick and tired of waiting 5 + minutes for steams broken workshop code to Validate and Download mod updates when all i need to do is change a simple config or toggle a mod on or off. please implement the ability disable automatic workshop updating and prevent the game from polling the workshop unless the player manually clicks a button to check for updates. this will improve performance of the mod menu drastically for simple configuration or toggle operations as the most time consuming operation is polling the workshop for updates.

To be honest the game should not be checking the workshop every time the player opens the mod menu. If anything this operation should only occur once when the client is launched. Any additional checks should require the user to manually refresh the mod list

 

but in all the steam workshop is the worlds slowest most inefficient method of mod distribution ever invented and any game that uses it should maintain a local cache of any subscribed mods and poll the workshop as infrequently as possible due to the exponential increase in load times caused by each additional subscribed mod

Should point out that another reason for manual mod updates is so that the workshop does not overwrite workshop mods that you have edited or tweaked for personal reasons
