Fps drops

Hello! I just bought the game, and I've noticed that everytime I go close to the water, or do other stuff, like fight with a bunch of enemies, I get fps drops from 60 to 45/35. It's kind of weird, since my Pc should be able to run this game without any problems at 60 fps all the time.

My pc specs:

intel core i7 4770 3.40ghz

gtx760 2gb

16gb ram

windows 7

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

So i have read your problem , (and your PC should run the game at 181+ Frames p/s) .

so my guess is you bough the game yeaah i hope you will enjoy it  , but well try to do steam "Verify Int..." in case you use steam.

now could you press "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" to open the what ever is it called - now open "Task Manager" - click on "Performance" (Do it after you restarted your PC) and take an screen shot - then send it to me if you can't understand this stuff or if you can check What apps that 24/7 running on your computer that could LEAK MEMORY + Check for VIRUSES or Malware that could too do something with your Computer Performance .

 

The Point that other games run with no problems (Like ahh , "Invisible Inc")

So you only having problems with "Don't Starve" , soo try to do Steam "Verify Int.." in steam , 

now if the game ins't working try to Install " DirectX®:9.0c" , and make sure your Anti-Virus (An program against Old and known Malware - or viruses) and same with Anti-Malware (against Newer Malware - or viruses) , Doesn't Block for some stuff "Don't Starve" (i'm sure it not but in case) .

Oh and if still the game crashes or lags reply with what actually is running in your Computer .

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a long and well described answer :). Okay, so about verifying integrity, I already did it, and everything was good. In the task manager everything is ok as well, 0-2% CPU use, ram 1,70gb. Here's a screenshot: . My pc is clean, I scaned it with ESET Nod32. Besides, I only use this pc for steam, skype and web browsing, so I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have any malware. My drivers and system are up to date.
About the games, I can run FEAR 3 on max settings with 120 fps, rocket league max settings with stable 60 fps, xcom, and GTA V medium settings with stable 60 fps.

well so my always best way to help is to actually remote control an computer but its sometimes creeps people so i trying to not do that .

however i'm not the best "Scripter" or stuff like this but if you want you can add me on steam for an moment (and after it fixed i will remove you , to save my steam from over 9000 friends) , in case you want too - you could in the while download an ahh *Cough* i guess i can't post the name of the program at the forums  but that's fine - just search in google "remote control pc" and something with "Teamv...." should come up download that in the while (it won't use ram and it will only start if you said it too , And make sure to check that it won't start on startup or it will just annoy you)  

My Steam is : "Richard Blonski | Richard-Gaming" , anyway i don't want to ask you a lot of question and wasting your time , even if i couldn't fix it at lest i could post an full report of the problem  .

Ok we had found the fix :

The Problem was with the GPU as my guess so what we did is like that , (he had 60 fps , but when he came close to the water not SW he had an drop of 20 FPS that it means he had 40 fps , and it didn't felt right to him) :

*He Had NVIDIA Card So it would be different if you have the same problem with AMD*

1) Opened NVIDIA Contorl Panel by , right clicking on Desktop.

2) clicked on "Manage 3D Settings" then , "Program Settings" and added "Don't Starve"

3) We changed the Feature ; "Triple Buffering" to the setting "On".

4) still didn't changed a lot , maybe will give you less drop

5) we still was in the Panel of "NVIDIA" , now we changed "Power management mode" to the setting  "Prefer Max...." *it will use more Power , and more battery in case you on laptops*

6) The Results were good ! ; The user got  an drop of 5 Frames P/s that means he had 55 Frames P/s near the Sea (Not SW).

*In case you want to lower the drop after that* ; you could turn "Vertical Sync" On , but you won't feel it because it will make your fps to be around 56-58 so it will drop max to 56 and when it drops a bit you won't feel it :).
