I am really annoyed. REALLY annoyed.

I prepared for Monsoon Season. I had 40 sandbags ready to go. I was waiting for the one square puddles to form so that I could sandbag them in and prevent my base from being flooded.

Monsoon season started and there were no puddles.

"Oh well," I thought "I guess I have to wait for it to rain before the puddles form."

So I build a Rainometer and hang around base for the rain to begin.

I was a little annoyed that I was hanging around and there was no rain. I did jobs around my base so that I could keep an eye on the Rainometer. I died to some hounds and respawned at a touch stone. I made my way quickly back to base. Didn't want to miss my chance to wall in those one square puddles.

It's 7 days into Monsoon Season and finally my Rainometer is starting to tick on upwards. I get my sandbags at the ready. Up, up, up. And then finally it rains!

Immediately my heart sinks.

I was right, the puddles do only form when it rains. But they weren't the one square puddles I was expecting. I had no chance to stop them. They're all through my base.

So here are a few screenshots of the puddles. The size that they were when they first appeared.

Rage quit.

Look. I get that Don't Starve is a hardcore survival game. But what I've enjoyed about the game is the fact that you're able to prepare for the hard stuff. It's hard in the sense that you die if you don't know what you're doing. But I knew exactly what I was doing and I had no chance to actually do it.

This isn't the Don't Starve that I love.
