No idea what happened.. Please help..

OK so today I decided to install some mods on my dedicated server. The mods were Archery DST, Global Positions, Mini Map, Thermal Stone durability, and one other. I am doubtful that these had anything to do with what happened.

 

For whatever reason no one is able to join my game anymore. I had 5 other people with me last night with no issues at all. At this point I have gone through windows firewall and created rules for both TCP and UDP ports 10999 and 10998. I am not behind a router, I am plugged directly into the ISP modem. I have logged into the modem and found no option for port forwarding.

 

Jacklul is showing my server when I load it up but it says it may be unreachable. I have uninstalled and followed the wiki STEP BY STEP to reinstall through Steam > Tools. I don't lack the brain capacity to do it through SteamCMD without having someone hold my hand like a toddler and walk me through it.

 

But seriously, WHAT HAPPENED?! Any idea what could have caused it to just stop accepting connections? If nothing else, if someone had the time to take my hand like an infant and guide me through the uninstalling and reinstalling once more just to make sure my feeble brain is doing it correctly, I would gladly accept the help.

 

I will point out that this [00:00:02]: [Warning] Could not confirm port 10998 is open in the firewall came up last night as well but people could still connect. It is 10998 because it said the same thing about 10999 but as I said I have TCP and UDP rules created for both in the firewall.

OK! So after tinkering with my server for a few more hours and booting/rebooting to test any and all possible problems I have found something I didn't notice before because it was swallowed by the boot text.

 

[WARNING] [account] dedicated_lan_server has been deprecated and replaced with [network] offline_server

 

Could this be pointing to something or is just because I put dedicated_lan_server = false in my settings.ini? Why is it replacing it with an OFFLINE server?

 

 

Ok so if anyone is having this issue I have found the solution with the help of someone from the Steam Forums.

 

Firstly, make sure your ports are forwarded correctly in whatever firewall you have (this includes the Windows Firewall if that is all you have). This is the main thing. Now find your server on http://dstservers.jacklul.com/

 

If it says your server no longer says Might be Unreachable but still isn't showing up for you or friends then your problem is with NAT. On my MODEM (I am not behind a router) I had to go into the LAN settings and change the NAT from RoutedWithNAT to Bridged. I have an Arris modem which was supplied by my ISP but I am pretty sure that all modems have NAT settings somewhere.

 

This will disrupt your internet connection but it is only supposed to be momentary. If it doesn't come back online, simply log back into your Modem and change the NAT settings back to default. At this point I can offer no more help.

 

I truly have no idea what actually caused my malfunction to begin with, but I hope in some way that this helps others who have this issue.
