Modding for Mac

Sorry about posting this here as well as in the FAQ thread - I need an answer soonish and I felt it'd see more activity as a thread.

 

Does anybody know if you can install mods in the Mac version of the game? If so, how do you go about it?

 

I don't have a Mac machine myself. I "made" a couple of mods for a friend of mine who does, though, and I'd like to gift them to her with the most crystal clear instructions possible.

 

Incidentally, is there anything I should do to the files to make them usable in Mac? My "modding" was just grabbing another mod and tweaking the prefab to accommodate a friend's medical condition, with no putzing around with tex stuff or anything.

 

I'm a giant noob, is what I'm saying. Help?
