kerzain
I purchased Don't Starve: Giant Edition yesterday for the WiiU and I have a couple questions. #1 When playing off the TV I find some of the text and artwork (in the toolbars) a little too small to read, most notably the quantity counts and icons for the items on my Toolbars and Build menus. I went into the options menu and maxed out the HUD size setting, but this didn't seem to affect anything (even after a restart), and as far as I can tell the HUD size setting doesn't seem to have any function whatsoever in the WiiU version. Am I misunderstanding what this option is supposed to do? Is there a way to increase the size of the HUD so items and quantities are more distinguishable without having to press my face up against the screen like I would a PC monitor? This is a 1080p TV, 42 inch, and I sit about 9 feet away. Maybe I'm just getting old and decrepit. #2 On the PC version of the game players have the ability to mouse-over ingredients in the build menu in order to figure out what an item requires to build. This is helpful when trying to figure out what some pink blob happens to be, so we have some idea what to go hunting for (like spider glands or something). I'm unable to figure out how to do this in the WiiU version. in the WiiU version I'll pop open the build menu and see a bunch of mandatory build ingredients listed for my items, but I can't tell what anything is, unless it's clearly obvious, like spider webs or cut grass something. But when things start requiring pink blobs and piles of ash or poop or whatever, things get a bit more complicated. How can I tell what these items are? I tried using the touch screen to click on the items like I would a mouse-cursor on the PC, but had no luck there either. Hopefully someone is familiar with these issues and can lead me in the right direction. Thanks for your time.
