Before I talk about the crash issue, I wish to give some feedback:

1. I like being able to use L-Analog to scroll through the Crafting Menu. Nice Job! In DS Single, I had to use D-Pad to scroll through Crafting.

2. Since this is pause-less multiplayer, I don't think the background (main view) should be dim when you go into Inventory Management. The game doesn't pause, so we should be able to see what is going on. Maybe you are already working on that.

3. There should be a quick way to equip Tools, rather than pick up and drag it to the hand slot. I am guessing I need to use the 'Use on Self' button. Will test that out.

4. When things get hairy, quick equip/unequip should be streamlined and optimized. Like if I am switching to Log Suit while currently wearing Backpack, it should just reverse the slots, rather than throw it on the ground, or cause it to be selected, tying player up from evasive action. I am guessing this problem arises when the inventory is already full.

If the Log Suit is in the Backpack when doing the switch, then it may be more complicated to code the auto-inventory slot swapping. Without 'holding the players hand' too much, as long as the Equip-able items are in the main inventory, the auto-switch/swap slots should do its thing.

Maybe add an option in the Settings, to enable Auto-Inventory Adjustments/Swapping, to allow for some intelligent auto-dropping? Example: having Tools and Equip-ables as a priority over Resources.

Maybe give players the option in the settings to select up to 5 items they never would wish to drop accidentally or in a rush, and auto-drop whatever isn't listed on that list.

Sorry to keep dragging this idea out. If you like the idea, also give players the option to pick up to five low priority items, that will be the first to be auto-dropped when out of inventory space. Or else use category types, like Tools, Clothes, Resources, Food, etc.

The whole point for all of this is that, so far, the Gamepad is not very versatile compared to Mouse and Keyboard. It may be difficult to balance between the two types, unintentionally handicapping one control type over another.

5. Range of vision / Locking onto targets?

One major limitation of Gamepad compared to Mouse and Keyboard is the range of targeting objects. You have to get really close to throw a Boomerang, and in most cases, Birds will always fly away. And you get almost no time to catch the Boomerang.

I was thinking maybe add an option to Toggle and Lock onto specific Objects. Otherwise, the controls remain clumsy.

This is the first time the game crashed on me. I made some changes to the Control Settings, such as making the R-analog control L and R scroll the inventory. Default, it was up and down on the R-analog that scrolled the inventory.

I also made the following changes:

Trigger L1 to 'Open Crafting'
Trigger R1 to 'Open Inventory'

Trigger L2 to 'Use Item on Self'.
Trigger R2 to 'Use on World'

D-Pad Up to 'Inspect Item'

L-Analog Button to 'Rotate L'
R-Analog Button to 'Rotate R'

Steps to Reproduce: > > >

I hosted my own server to test out the gamepad controls. Not a dedicated server. No one had joined. Around Day 2, I started chopping some trees and based on the snapshot I took of the error crash, it seemed to have something to do with my picking up the wood into my inventory. It happened after I exited the Inventory Management screen.

Please see the error image I uploaded.

Hope it helps, and please keep up the good work! Thanks!
