Help please!

So here's a summary:

My friend gives me a copy of DST. I install it, and launch it on steam. I press play and it says "Logging In.."

Then it says my email is not validated, So i press "Try Again." It opens up a browser and I type in my email address. I click the link in the email and it opens another tab saying Registration Complete. I go back into DST and press Play. Same thing occurs, it keeps telling me my email is not validated.
