After day 15 (and at the time I thought this was a massive achievement as from day 8 I almost died each day) I encountered a crash.. Those hours were all lost and now my motivation to play has gone. Is it possible to have a simple auto save at the completion of each day? I know I could manually save. But I always forget.. Which means I would possibly lose more hours of game play to crashes I didn't expect. Kind of sucks that the only way to manually save is to save and quit back to the menu. That wouldn't be the end of the world as I was set up well but it spawned dogs and those tusk things right on top of me. Was treated to an insult to injury. Those hours were all lost and now my motivation to play has gone. If losing 15 days caused you to lose all motivation to play this game that does not bode well for your future with Don't Starve. I haven't encountered a crash on my PS4 version yet, and I hope it continues to run smoothly. That being said, I do like your autosave idea. AnneHijme Posted January 20, 2014 Share Posted January 20, 2014 I have encountered my first crash on day 44 or so, lost 23 days since my last save was day 21. I honestly surprised the save was there. I was thinking the save in Don't Starve was like many games suspend where it deletes upon resuming. So there is a sort of solution. I still need to test if you save and don't exit whether it actually saves. Will be doing so later today. So, I'll post results then. Auto saves are nice, but uncertain if necessary.My crash seem to be when I killed one of the fleshy bulb things and the items it dropped it a tree then it was gone. Game over.But at least I had the save. Never had a console game crash before. It was an unique experience. But alas, I don't have it crash often, so not a big deal to do this every now and then.
