Gexman
Hey, sorry first post here so I apologize in advance for lack of etiquitte and any naming conventions that might be going on.I run the game on a very old netbook. It's great to have a game that I can play with relative ease, and up until now it has run great! However, now that I have starting building a base and such, I've noticed my game performance dropping greatly. I know, I know, I should get a better computer, but I simpily cant afford one at the moment. Anyways, I notice the largest amout of slowing when my grass farm is fully grown and ready to be harvested. I'm guessing it has to do with the large amount of swaying that accompanies large grass farms. So my suggestion is, to possibly turn off some or all animations while in netbook mode to make the end-game less cpu intensive. Even just turning off the grass and sapling sway would help a ton, since its really the only thing that has a constant animation that needs to be in a base.So thats my idea, thanks for reading. If you have any tips or suggestions feel free to let me know. Also if you want my computer specs just ask, but they're bad. I love this game and I just want to make it more enjoyable by everyone. aredshroom
I would like something like this if it is possible to implement too - most amounts of lag for me seems caused by the animation/effects, like snow or swaying of grass/saplings/trees. Been using "use_small_textures = true" all along and it used to work extremely well, but now the game's nigh unplayable even by my standards (I'm quite used to lag, haha). I know it definitely requires more than an integrated graphics card, but this laptop's all I have for games atm. I'm hoping by the end of the updates, something's worked out so the processing of the game's somewhat tweaked back to the "Underground" version. I've even turned caves to none and it didn't help with my current overworld lag, while the Underground ver still ran really smooth. [Also, welcome to the forums @Gexman ^^] Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/27684-turning-off-animations-in-netbook-mode/#findComment-320305 Share on other sites
