Viti-Mortos hisses furiously at the girl.  "I'm not going to condemn myself to a lifetime of being hunted just so you can eat.  Find your food for yourself or starve!  If you can't even find a bit of food, you do not deserve to live.  Now leave!"

Stepping over the charred remains of the Fire Guardian, the group walks through the porticullus and into the hallway.  Dodging a few more traps, including swinging blades, puddles of flaming oil, and charging spectral mules, they reach another chamber.  Huge collumns rise out up to the ceiling, which is simply rough rock.  In the center of the chamber lies yet another one of those nightmare statues that was seen rising from the blood hound.

Ooc: *Thinking pose*

Joseph nods.

"I don't like it either. But we have to save Jakob. Come on."

He pats Snowfall on the back before limping towards the statue.

"Hmm..."

He looks at Dark Will.

"Possibly... But has it been fire themed? We saw a fire guardian, that's true. But we also saw a digging guardian. I don't recall an incredible amount of fire..."

"I don't know!  Please, no-NO!"  A painfully loud, piercing shriek blasts out of the statue, and it begins to melt like wax.  The cry becomes garbled and warped as the statue is reduced to a bubbling, unrecognizable pile of goo.  With a grating sound, the floor around the statue begins to descend like an elevator.

As Dark Will prepares to jump down, the hole slams shut.

"Bloody hell. Let me look-"

Before Dark Will can say anything else, an explosion is heard from inside the room.

"****! Not you!"

From inside the room, there are many crashes. The sound of two huge slabs of rock ends all noise from the room.

The group falls onto a small platform in the middle of a large underwater lake.  A bridge leads across the water to a larger platform.  At the edge of the platform, a large wall covered in elaborate carving stands.  A dragon's head pokes out of the wall, and a hexagonal sphere sits in the mouth.  Over a water-filled hole in the platform hangs Jakob, strung up by his limbs.

"Hey guys!" He says weakly.  "Found the beacon."

He gestures with his head to the sphere.

"Yeah, I'm fine.  Other than the fact that Shadowfall hung me here as food for a giant metal snake, of course.  Now, could you get me down?"

"Will! No!"

Joseph slams on the wall, but to no avail. His sanity slowly slips away, and he grabs his forehead.

As he falls into the room and sees Jakob, he perks up. But his eyes are tired and dull, and he still holds his forehead.

"Great. Now we need to get Will. Dark Will. Whatever."
