"Try to lure it up!"  Jakob yells to the group.  "Will, keep an arrow drawn so you'll be ready!"

That said, Jakob throws himself to the side as the Guardian's spinning head bursts up from the ground.  The machine's eyes slide back into the sockets, then it prepares to drive the drill through Jakob's chest.

"Now, Will!"

One of Will's arrows bounces off the Guardian's shell, but the second is a direct hit.  The eye explodes, throwing the automaton's head to the side.  Roaring in pain, it slides back underground.

"Alright, one down, two to-"

Before Will can continue his sentence, the Guardian flies through the ground, sending Will flying into the air. He attempts to grab the rope, but narrowly misses. He quickly reaches terminal velocity at a height which will kill him.

Damn it! It can't end like this!

Will reaches into the smallest pocket in his satchel, and produces a syringe filled with a purple liquid. He quickly injects it into himself. Shortly after, he crashes into the tree line.

Jakob curses.    "Will!"

A mound of dirt races towards Jakob.  Bracing himself, Jakob jumps into the air seconds before the Guardian bursts out of the ground.  He grabs onto the inside of its mouth, holding on tight as the creature thrashes around.  Trying to ignore the spinning blades visible down the automaton's throat, he climbs around to the outside of the shell.  He drives his broadsword into the second soul gem, then jumps off the Guardian's head and is blown clear by the explosion.

"Hell yeah-Oh, come on."

Jakob flies into the lake, smashed by the Guardian's wildly swinging head.  He paddles wildly, but is dragged under by the robot.

Joseph swears, looking between the two crash sites. Hoping the purple liquid would save Will for the time being, Joseph directs his attention to Jakob, using telepathy.

'Jakob, if your alive, open your mind. I can get you out...'

...Maybe... I hope...

"Hurt him? I'd say he hurt me, dragging me back out here. They put me in a nicely furnished room for me to wait in until this whole ordeal was over. There was even a fireplace! Well, that is beside the point. I went from being in a comfortable chair to being on top of a crater in the ground."

Dark Will surveys the group.

"Where's Jakob? And who are these new blokes? Viti, would you mind filling me in?"

"If you missed, Snowfall, we were attacked by an enormous mechanical serpent, which has taken Jakob to the core of the temple.  We must get to him soon, or he shall be eradicated."

Viti-Mortos walks up to the door, but while the door is large, Viti-Mortos is larger and cannot fit.

"Stopped by a door.  How embarrassing."  Viti-Mortos sighs.

"No, here said the size would fit humans. And you're human sized... Right? 'Course you are! He even said he doubted that you couldn't enter!"

He grunts, sending a telepathic message to Snowfall.

'Please don't make me go in there alone with Dark Will...'
