Sofy Happy
The overall gameplay experience of Moon Clones has been greatly improved in this update. The developers also mentioned plans to polish their compatibility with Gamma Circuits in the future. In my opinion, Moon Clones are nearly perfectly designed, and only two quality-of-life features are missing: standby mode and direct circuit replacement. I understand the devs have stated there are no immediate plans for these functions, yet I still believe they are essential and reasonable additions. I have been maining WX-78 on the official server since the latest patch, and the lack of these two features severely ruins the early and mid-game experience when using Moon Clones. I understand the devs have stated there are no immediate plans for these functions, yet I still believe they are essential and reasonable additions. I have been maining WX-78 on the official server since the latest patch, and the lack of these two features severely ruins the early and mid-game experience when using Moon Clones. 1. Demand for Direct Circuit Replacement Moon Clones cannot have their circuits swapped directly. Every time I need to modify their loadout, I am forced to kill the clone, adjust the circuits on the original chassis, and then recreate a new Moon Clone. There are very few ways to generate Moon Clones in the early and mid-game. The only reliable method on the surface is traveling to the Moon Island. Because of this, I have to keep a spare chassis on the Moon Island as a dedicated "circuit maintenance station". Even with this workaround, the entire process remains extremely tedious: Send items to the Moon Island, travel there, kill the existing clone, switch chassis, modify circuits, switch back, wait for Moon Parasite transformation, and transport supplies back and forth. This repetitive workflow is frustrating and inefficient. Furthermore, early to mid-game is the main stage for collecting new circuits. I unlock new circuit types gradually, which means I constantly need to update my Moon Clones’ builds and make frequent trips to the Moon Island. 2. Demand for Standby Mode Every Moon Clone continuously consumes hunger at all times, just like a playable character. However, I do not need them active 24/7. During base building, which takes up half of my early and mid-game playtime, my idle clones simply stand nearby and keep starving nonstop. This creates constant unnecessary pressure and anxiety about them dying from hunger. If a Moon Clone starves to death on the mainland, the consequences are overly troublesome: Destroy the fallen clone, collect scattered circuits and tools one by one, ship everything to the Moon Island maintenance station, and craft a brand-new chassis to resummon. Or remotely access the backup chassis, sail all the way to the Moon Island for repairs, which is even more time-consuming. Additionally, certain AOE bosses (such as Armored Bear) make it extremely difficult to keep multiple clones alive during combat. A standalone standby toggle would grant players more flexible strategies for solo fights. Adding these two quality-of-life features would barely impact game balance at all. They only streamline clunky workflows and improve comfort, instead of granting extra power or broken mechanics to Moon Clones. If minor restrictions are needed for balance concerns, a fair compromise can be implemented: All charge on the Moon Clone will be fully depleted after changing circuits or exiting standby mode. This WX-78 mod has received numerous updates recently. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3049588674 It allows players to open a command wheel via the Spectral Transfer Module, to issue commands such as Standby, Work, and Recall. The overall quality of life is excellent. Jussatoon
They already confirmed that they don't plan on letting you switch their circuits directly. I apologize for not being able to find the post; all I know is that it was the same one that confirmed they'd allow opening their inventory. V2C stated they have no immediate plans to add the circuit replacement feature, but they didn’t completely rule it out. That’s why I want to make another request. The current experience is really cumbersome. With these two quality-of-life additions, the entire Moon Chassis line would feel absolutely polished and complete. Ponuem_BR
I still think the Lunar Affinity wasn’t balanced around having 3 possessed chassis, but rather just 1; however, you can have more, at the cost of the effort required to maintain them. But disabling them is the least that Klei could do. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171224-request-add-standby-mode-and-circuit-replacement-function-for-moon-clones/#findComment-1864877 Share on other sites

But disabling them is the least that Klei could do. I believe the intended design is one chassis in the early and mid-game, gradually scaling up to three as you progress. From my own playthroughs, I only run a single clone early on. I simply don’t have enough circuits to fully build more than one extra set. Even with just one Moon Clone, the experience still feels very unpolished. Swapping circuits is an overly convoluted process, and I’m forced to keep a spare chassis on the Moon Island as a dedicated repair and fast-travel hub just for my clones. On top of that, my idle clone keeps consuming hunger nonstop while I’m base-building, which creates constant unnecessary anxiety. These two quality-of-life changes would barely affect balance at all. Players who only maintain one clone will still stick to one, but the overall comfort and quality of life would be massively improved. 4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171224-request-add-standby-mode-and-circuit-replacement-function-for-moon-clones/#findComment-1864947 Share on other sites

Sofy Happy
Please consider adding these two features. We’re willing to wait longer if needed. These are the most impactful quality-of-life improvements for the entire Moon Chassis experience, and there’s significant community demand for them. Let’s fully realize the great design vision behind the Moon line. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171224-request-add-standby-mode-and-circuit-replacement-function-for-moon-clones/#findComment-1865235 Share on other sites

It truly serves as a great reference for the developers to learn from. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171224-request-add-standby-mode-and-circuit-replacement-function-for-moon-clones/#findComment-1865242 Share on other sites
