I like the clockworks a lot. It would be nice to be able to tell clockworks to wait in place / pause following. Particularly rooks can feel like a liability, e.g., if they are at base and a hound wave comes, they can destroy a lot of your structures.

I agree, this would be so useful. I avoid using rooks because of the potential damage they can do to my base. It would also be nice to leave them behind when getting on a boat, to avoid crowding.

I'm not sure how we would order them though, maybe force attack first shuts them down, then another force attack after they are shut down lets you actually attack them (I don't know if that would work for console though).

It could even be WX exclusive as an active for the chessmaster circuit, though I'd like to be able to do this with any character.

I think they just need a left click / interact option? At the moment left click is just examine. If it was changed to deactivate / rest that would work.
