I agreed to change the pattern of manifestation how shadow affinity should be, and the drone idea itself is good. However, during my gameplay(not just quick test) I found it way worse than the former version to use. Here're my feeling while playing.

  1. Both of the new drones move too slow, they can't keep up with WX, I have to wait for the Auto-Grabber or walk to it to receive its load, or it won't grab other things. And I have to wait Exploiterator to catch up before I start a battle.
  2.  Both of them should not need to be craft, and it make the self-deconstruction mechanism annoying. 
  3. Exploiterator didn't perform well in group fight, which make it work badly with spinning circuit.
  4. Exploiterator lose its target too easily, even if target move a short distance they will re-scanning and lose the buff for a while. Here's a video I fight dragonfly, damage keep changing between 65~59 even it didn't move much.
  5. Exploiterator's buff is too little. 10% means about +7dmg per hit with dark sword, about +5dmg per hit with hambat.

And there's my suggestion:

  1. The art of them should be completely composed of shadow, and consume sanity to auto craft and rebuilt after implanted instead of unlock the recipe. 
  2. Speed of  Auto-Grabber should be much faster so they can unload correctly to grab other things.
  3. Quantity of Exploiterator should not be limited,they should be spawn for every enemies around, and each one of them provides 20% dmg boost while Shadow Atrium implanted, and the dmg boost should do effect on planar dmg while Possessed Shadow Atrium implanted.
  4. Exploiterator should be back to WX while not fighting, and bring back some sanity on the basis of their finiteuses. For example spawn a Exploiterator cost 5 sanity, it will self-deconstruction after 200 hits. And the battle ends it was 50 hits left, it should come back and regen 1.25 sanity for WX.

To me, last shadow affinity works perfect, but art not so satisfying. This one's arts idea are good, but works disappointingly, which make me post this. I really hope it can both matches WX's character and works well.

Please leave your thought, the more we talk about it the more klei may improve it!

when this effect was almot free it gave 25%, i don't see a reason now that it have a bigger cost to be only 20%, if it was 15% if only one drone, 25% with two and a bonus of 15 planar damage for the third and fouth it would be better

It could be other limiting, as I said it could consume sanity as its fuel. If you see the video you'll find it now just lose 75% buff even target didn't move much. It's not "fast moving", it just moving. And it almost did noting to small enemies like spiders and hounds.

They could just make the damage buff better when eating fueland keep the limitations which make it unique.

The problem is not it's low stats, is it's not working properly. It's like you attack 4 times and only hit 1 time, and you're saying like"just make it deal more damage".

Seeing you pic really gave me hope that they would work like the mini saucers in terraria, locking in when they see an enemy and staying on top of em. I think your idea is really good! And your art really gets the idea behind it real clear so gj!:wilson_goodjob:

Honestly they should revert the changes. and give his old vex mechanic cuz it worked perfect alone and in teams .with the benefit of picking items fast and properly

I like the art, and Auto-Grabber can grab stack of things now so I think that's good. It just need to be faster

they should give planar damage too, because it is strage a item that can only be obtainable after killing a mob with planar defence and damage don't give it themselves

100%. I hope they revert.

I like the idea of a drone spawning for each enemy in combat. Simple, effective. I think the drones just auto spawning as opposed to needing to be manually crafted would save a lot of the ache with this affinity. Part of what made the initial shadow affinity so fun was how chill the mechanics were.

This could work a lot better than it does now. But make like a vex the debuff sticks to the enemy rather than wx
