Is there a better tool than spriter to edit and/or create new animations??

So, i want to work on a boss for a mod im making with a friend, but spriter is kind of a pain to be honest. I was wondering if there are any more free programs with the capacity of doing the same spriter does and being less annoying?

You guys should give Spine a shot. I just commissioned some Spine animators and imported their work into this tool—it’s pretty straightforward. You might run into a few weird extra or missing frames here and there, but overall it’s solid. Just make sure to run some tests first to ensure everything works so you don't waste your time.
