We can introduce the concept of energy consumption without changing the existing battery system.

I finally came up with a great idea.

Transfer consciousness into the possessed chassis, or install the shadow heart directly into yourself. The empty slots in the battery gauge get filled with Lunar or Shadow energy. This special energy meter acts as an "Active Battery."

For example, out of a total of 7 power slots, you could use the top 3 slots as the special energy meter and the remaining 4 slots as your standard power meter.

Previously, it was hard to introduce a system that actively drained battery power because the battery system is closely tied to Alpha and Beta circuits. But with this idea, an energy-drain system can be introduced without making major overhauls to the existing battery mechanics.

Gamma circuits would consume this special energy to activate. This means they could finally add genuinely powerful Gamma circuits to the game!

It leaves the choice entirely up to the player whether to use standard circuits or Gamma circuits, making build crafting a lot more fun.

It might even be cool if the Shadow and Lunar circuits had a duality to them, offering both passive and active abilities.

That would force you to have the affinity to even use gamma circuits, it would make gamma circuits unusable by new players.

Only if both affinities would have theire own circuits that would use the meter, then it could work.

If you haven't unlocked an Affinity yet, Gamma circuits would simply run on a cooldown. But yeah, Affinity-specific Gamma circuits are a must-have. I just want to pull off something like my icon haha.
