NewGamePlus
Currently as it stands, the lunar affinity(Lunar Vessel), conflicts with the playstyle of Remote Transfer. While the gestalts are active in the Backup Chassis you are unable to use them as a teleport node. I understand the lunar affinity is a powerful perk and feature, however, it simultaneously invalidates using remote transfer, a perk that you were capable of using up to the point of unlocking the lunar affinity feature. If you were to allow the Roto-Mapper to pick up and transport the chassis through its normal means of transportation, it would remedy a fair of amount of frustration and tedium involved with the combinations of these perks. Currently, I don't think its worth taking both perks (Remote transfer and lunar vessel) due to their conflicting nature, however, if you do, you'll find its not uncommon for the gestalts bodies to die at staggered times or at different locations. This is a frustrating user experience. If you wish to use both perks, this usually entails manually relocating each body one at a time back to practical spots for teleportation, only then to relocate them once again so they can be invaded by gestalts to become a minion. You pretty much repeat this over and over unless you use an encapsulator for one half of the equation, but still have to manually move them for teleporting. Its too much effort and back and forth frankly. Admittedly, the roto-mapper would not cut down the full process, but it would streamline a significant amount, and also allow the player to do activities simultaneously. I suspect this would "feel" better from the player perspective compared to what we have now. These changes in mind likely solves multiple problems, or in the least allow for some different variety for the player. The perks would no longer be at odds with one another and have some choices on how you want to spec based on playstyle. You have one style of play where you can hopscotch between both perks; Where you use the gestalt minions until they die, then relocate them using the roto-mapper to teleport sites. Then another style of play where the player opts out of using the teleportation altogether simply using the new additional roto-mapper function to better relocate the chassis for reuse of the gestalt hosting, such as flying the bodies to lunar island. This puts the onus on the player in deciding how to invest in those features, rather than being locked out from one another based on which perk they took. I would ultimately like to see this functionality be locked behind Field survey 2 in order to give that 2nd point additional value and contrast from field survey 1. Additionally, this keeps a level of investment still required to make the lunar affinity more comfortable to use. It should be mentioned that the shadow affinity perk can still benefit from this change as well, just not nearly to the same degree as the lunar side of things. Given why this post is mostly from the angle of lunar affinity benefits. However, with this change neither side would be locked out of this benefit to use. I do think this would be a lot more work and certainly not ready in time for the live release, but I do think this change would go a long way to making lunar vessel feel better to use. 8 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170850-please-allow-roto-mapper-to-relocate-chassis/ Share on other sites
Jakepeng99
The problem is we should be able to transport the gestalt to the Chasis. i feel like free map teleportation for WX would be too strong and just make him better Wanda and Wortox, who’s gimmicks involve teleporting. The drones right now are quite independent from the rest of WX's skills. I don't see this change as being an issue especially considering how slow the rotomapper is and their limited range. WX, even with this change, would not beat Wanda and Wortox's teleporting expertise, who have easy, instant teleports that can bring along others also fixes rotomapper's major issue of being useless past early game Edited Tuesday at 10:47 PM by YouKnowWho142 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170850-please-allow-roto-mapper-to-relocate-chassis/#findComment-1861745 Share on other sites

I’m not sure what you mean by this tbh. None of my proposed changes directly affect the way teleportation works on WX. It mostly changes the capability of being able to teleport while still using lunar affinity perk. The shadow side does not have to make this sacrifice. If you’re bothered that teleportation exists on WX, that Pandora’s box has already been opened. However, I still don’t think it compares to Wanda or Wortox. Though this is besides the point imo. I think it’s important to keep the style of play while opening others. 9 minutes ago, YouKnowWho142 said: also fixes rotomapper's major issue of being useless past early game I forgot to make this point in my post but I’m glad you did. Largely why I wanted it behind field survey instead of base kit. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170850-please-allow-roto-mapper-to-relocate-chassis/#findComment-1861750 Share on other sites
