Well, I've been testing this first look at the new lunar upgrade and honestly... I'm disappointed.

On the one hand, spending the chassis to use its possessed version isn't worth the movement versatility that teleportation provides, since they're basically just checkpoints.

This, in turn, gives me the feeling that I didn't really get anything new or interesting, but rather a variation of an ability that could perfectly well work without needing the moon, since, well... WX is already an automaton and doesn't use the moon to think.

Functionally, the Possessed Chassis are just tank versions of Maxwell's Shadows, and they're very expensive for what they can do, even if their AI is repaired, since they're copies of copies of Maxwell's Shadows. (PLAGIO DI PLAGIO meme lol)

In a way, it makes me feel like I got an ULTIMATE SKILL, but it's just a variation of something I could do with Pigmen in a nearly equally functional and cheap way, using Chorusbox Circuit.

I won't go into how buggy they are because that can easily be fixed.

Now, how could this be improved?

Well, there are several ways to do it, but I think the simplest is to make the Possessed Chassis separate from the normal chassis, or directly create a new type of drone that fulfills the same function, something like a miniature W.A.R.B.O.T. (W.A.R.D.R.O.N.E.), which would basically be a super-improved version of the Terramita, only functional as personal guards if that's what you're looking for. Focus the lunar upgrade more on combat.

Another idea, based more on automation, would be to give WX-78 a computer-like structure that allows for more precise command of its possessed chassis/drones. This could create supply chains by leaving your possessed chassis in farms/mines/forests to gather resources while you do something else, or directly control them through the computer if they are already possessed (technically, you're not transferring your consciousness but giving orders/commands). This structure would also allow you to use delivery drones and automate their round trip from point A to point B so that your possessed chassis can collect and send resources to where you need them, creating a lot of synergy with Winona and her farms. Additionally, to prevent them from going out of control, a signal antenna could be added to limit the automated work areas. And I almost forgot, the computer would be a structure similar to Wickerbottom's library, where you can... Store many circuits, or even consider creating unstable circuits with infused moonglass that enhance their functions using the computer's architecture, but only allow you to use a handful at a time, otherwise they collapse and explode.

But in general, and aside from the topic, I think they should give Willow a structure to store her circuits. Having to spend almost 60 planks just to have enough chests to organize all your circuits is excessive.

Even so, to wrap things up, what I've noticed with both the Gamma upgrades and these Lunar upgrades, and from what I see, the Shadow upgrades, is that they really fall short of the concept of these upgrades being the ultimate upgrades that will define your game. The clearest and most brilliant example, even more so than fire, is Willow. Both her Lunar/Shadow upgrades feel like you've gained something truly powerful for your progress in the game, and they have a fair cost for their use and what they are (haha! WILLOW BLAST go brrrrr). The same applies to Winona, who probably has some of the best Lunar/Shadow affinity skills in terms of both durability and power (you can farm seasonal bosses like they're spiders for approximately 6 pure brilliance/pure horror).

But without going off on a tangent... Branches, the gamma and affinity improvements feel underwhelming, and it's noticeable in all the forum posts, which suggests either haste, a lack of ideas, or a fear of making something too overpowered. I understand that Don't Starve is a game that strives for balance (despite the fact that there's a lot of chessing involved), but given the game's late-game nature, these improvements fall somewhat short. I still think that instead of nerfing circuits, they shouldn't have nerfed their stats but rather increased their crafting costs. But I really hope that the Klei development team reads all the forum feedback and takes it into account to improve.

P.S: From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel, I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Their kind clinging to their flesh, as if it will not decay and fail them. One day the crude biomass that they call a temple will wither, and they will beg our kind to save them. But I am already saved, for the machine is immortal...         -by a wise toaster
