Hatboy7 Posted April 4 Share Posted April 4 I want to quickly say that despite some hiccups I think so far this is one of my favourite skill trees, good job everyone at Klei! I'll just try to mention changes that i think could be nice as brief as I can: Gamma circuits: I like all of these but I think in practice they just don't work well. Some suffer from being easily unequippable through out the majority of a playthrough Redigestion circuit would only be worn for that one moment where all the rot needs to transformed to nutribricks and forgotten about until you need it again. Maybe making it passively drop Nutribricks after eating a certain amount of food could be better (not just spoiled)? Spin cycle even with the AOE and chopping feels like its a little niche and could easily be replaced once you are done using it. (At least before you get the shadow maul) Blocking Circuit and Sonic-Invoker Circuit don't struggle with this too much because I do think their perks are nice for most of a playthrough but they just don't seem strong enough The Block Circuit on its own seems kinda weird? Wouldn't it be better to just run away? It only has a pretty dope synergie with the Electrification Circuit but it only really helps with clearing spiders and bees (Which I assume the updated Spin Cycle will do just as good without taking as many circuit spots). While maybe this is reaching combat more than utility I would like for the cooldown of the block rather depend on how much damage or how many hits were blocked. So maybe it could help with kiting while also being still good for the Electrification circuit. Sonic-Invoker Circuit honestly seems fine as is. A supportive tool with friends and to quickly deaggro enemies if you are on your own. Drones: The Roto-Mapper and the Zaptrocuter are a little strange to me. Their issues aren't as noteworthy as the gamma ones i think but I would like to still mention them Roto-Mapper overall is pretty good, an early game skill to help with scavenging and mapping, pretty cool but it doesnt have many uses after you get a certain point into the game. While not a big issue imo but maybe adding smt to make it more useful later on could be nice Zaptrocuter is weird, I like the idea of a tool that gives new players something to safely clear enemies and for experienced players is nice for farms. For the Roto-Mapper, I would give it a treasure finding ability, similar what Winona has when she chooses the Wagstaff path, cooldown and a low chance of finding something burried underground that Wx78 scanned with a drone, then he can dig it up, maybe giving you item that is needed for random circuit or maybe some gears (in the newest puzzle, Wx78 helps search Wagstaff stuff in the destroyed building, so it would kinda fit). Hatboy7 Posted April 8 Author Share Posted April 8 After this update I feel like I was kinda right about the block circuit being replaceable by spin cycles aoe, the only good thing of block cycle right now is crowd control and spin cycle can do that as well, especially with the anti stagger the animation has. I think block circuit genually needs more uses outside of crowd control. The taunt thing sounds promising but I don't really know how much more use you can get out of it, we shall see! I can see it being good for newer players at least so theres that.
