WX78's skill tree is probably my most anticipated tree out of all the survivors and im very much excited for all the other stuff their gonna add specifically gamma circuits. But I will admit that right now he is VERY strong which means some nerfs would be fine... but please klei do not completely GUT his skills!!! Also lots of bugs!!

This post is mostly about his circuits and how they could potentially improve upon this side of the tree.

First off WX78 having three seperate circuit types is a nice way way to encourage people to use the previously unpopular stat circuits and I think this is where wx is already becomming way too strong a character.

His stat circuits are all still quite flavorless and too plain IMO, with the exception of the hardy circuit since it indirectly synergises with the upgraded Beanbooster circuit which grants him an overhealth shield that scales with his maximum HP.

Heres a picture with no hardy circuits at max overhealth.

Intentional or not this is a very cool way to make circuit building unique and innovative, i feel like there should be more of these, where if you combine one, two or even three circuits you'll get a nice little quirk, if done right the weaker circuits like the Gastrogain and the processing circuit might have a use outside of just granting you more maximum sanity and hunger.

I think the easiest way to make these stat circuits stronger is by making gears or food restore more stats in proportion to the maximum value of each of your stats, for example if you have a maximum hp of 250 which would be double of wxs usual health then the gears would also provide double the health so a singular gear which when eaten will provide you with 120 health instead of the usual 60 and this would also apply to the other stats, this is just an idea and might be a little too op though i think just having 50% of that amount is good enough. I just think that having a higher maximum hp doesn't really do anything since food still heals u all the same. (You'll just have to eat more food to heal to full) 

Keep in mind that all of these new circuit slots wx acquired are all part of his base kit which already makes him one of the strongest characters if you only look at the survivors base kits, needless to say that if he doesn't receive any proper nerfs to his circuit slots or circuit effects I would see no reason to pick any other character besides WX78 as he is already so versatile, having practically infinite sanity and hp regeneration, immunity to seasonal weathers (with the exception of spring ofcourse), an infinite light source or a pretty acessible infinite inventory space and also has insane combat capabilities, like friending pigs or bunnies for free or having very good AOE capabilities and a bunch of running speed. I suspect that wx getting that all those extra circuit slots and having the infinite light source cost 1 slot will already make him one of the most picked characters once the update releases.

All skills related to circuitry.

  • Even though the alpha circuits probably have more upgrades comming their way, I honestly think that it is currently already well worth the points despite the fact that the only effects these skills give are an upgraded version of the previously mentioned Beanbooster circuit which is very buggy atm and heals you for way too much but I assume that its supposed to heal you for 1 health every 2 seconds and will grant you an overhealth shield that heals you at the same rate, seems very good and a must have circuit in long fights or expeditions (ruins).

 

  • As for the beta circuits, the illumination circuit becomes a 1 cost circuit and now provides a cone of light which seems a little too crazy to me and the Chorusbox circuit now provides a permanent one-man-band effect which is totally not strong at all :D
    The electric circuit upgrade is honestly my favorite one, seems like the most fair and balanced one as it requires you to charge it up and explodes in a very satisfying way.

     

If klei plans to make all of these circuit upgrades this strong, then I wouldn't mind if I had to spend more points to acquire these upgrades

  • And at the very top you have a must have skill that now provides u an extra slot in each circuit category, Woohoo!
     
  • Most of the QOF skills at the bottom seem pretty worthwhile with the exception of Right to modify I feel like this one should already be a part of WX78s kit and is most of the times probably not worth getting since all you'd have to do to avoid having to unplug a circuit at the bottom is just plugging them in correctly in the specific order that you desire. This is probably the only skill that I think wouldn't be a problem if it were to be removed entirely and maybe just added into WX78s base kit.      

     

I really want to know what klei has planned for the gamma circuitry I think that this would be a very cool opportunity to add potential active abilities like willows pyrokinesis or woodies moose charge.

I personally would love if they went more down the bio data route where wx is able to use the constants entities more interactive abilities instead of their passive abilities.
A cool example would be wx scanning a rock lobsters defensive ability and turning it into a circuit which allows him to mimic their ability, or letting him dig underground like the moles.


As for my opinions on the other parts of the trees

I think that the zaptrocuter is the most out of place skill i've seen so far I was honestly flabbergasted when i saw this skill at first...
As for the chassis tree... it seems that wortox has done irreversible damage to dst since it feels like walking is now a thing of the past for most characters, being able to teleport yourself instantly and anywhere and having the ability to bring your stuff with you seems like a normal thing these days...

I could keep going on about my opinions but there isn't much reason to since I know that klei will end up fixing most of the problems on their own, glad that they went this route where they will only release 1 skilltree. (3 was honestly pretty absurd now that i think about it.)

I think it would be funny if one of them turned WX into a multiboxer. One of my friends thinks it would be cool if they gave him missiles or lasers. I think it would be interesting if they were weapons like that then they should function like ammo cartridges.

the permanent one man band is definitely interesting. not the army I was expecting wx to have but we will take it. Also makes for a nice addition to the body i can leave at the farm
