Subject: WX-78 Rework Ideas – New Circuits & Active Abilities

Hello Klei Entertainment team!

I'm a big fan of Don't Starve Together and especially enjoy playing as WX-78. I've been thinking about his mechanics and came up with several new circuit ideas that could improve his gameplay variety and make him more interesting in different situations.

I've tried to balance them carefully — they're not overpowered, but they offer new strategic options. Some are passive, some are active (using the "S" key), and all require specific resources and planning.

Here are my suggestions

1.Energy Module

Description:
Adds +1 energy slot. Can be installed up to 4 times.

Crafting recipe:

• 1 Gear
• 1 Scrap Wire

Effect: +1 energy slot (max 10 total)

 

2. 

Circuit name: Harvesting Circuit

Description:
Increases resource gathering speed (chopping trees, mining rocks) by 25%.
Effect stacks with multiple circuits (unlike the Super Accelerator Circuit).

Crafting recipe:

·         1 Gear

·         3 Bio Data

Slot cost: 2
Effect: +25% gathering speed (stacks)

Scan target: Pig

Circuit name: Super Harvesting Circuit

Description:
Increases resource gathering speed (chopping trees, mining rocks) by 50%.
Effect stacks with multiple circuits (unlike the Super Accelerator Circuit).

Crafting recipe:

·         1 Harvesting Circuit

·         5 Bio Data

Slot cost: 3
Effect: +50% gathering speed (stacks)

Scan target: Clockwork Rook

 

 

4. Circuit name: Waterproof Circuit

Description:
Increases WX-78's wetness threshold by 10 per circuit (e.g.: base threshold is 15; with 1 circuit — 25, with 2 circuits — 35, etc.).

Crafting recipe:

·         1 Tentacle Spot

·         2 Bio Data

Slot cost: 1
Effect: +10 wetness threshold (stacks)
Scan target: Moose/Goose

 

5. Circuit name: Healing Circuit

Description:
Restores 5 health every quarter of a day (20 health per day total).
Effect stacks with multiple circuits.

Crafting recipe:

·         1 Tallbird Egg

·         6 Bio Data

Slot cost: 4
Effect: +5 health per quarter of day (stacks)
Scan target: Tallbird

6. Circuit name: Fishing Circuit

Description:
Increases fishing speed and improves the chance of catching rare items.

Crafting recipe:

·         2 Freshwater Fish

·         2 Bio Data

Slot cost: 1
Effect: Increases fishing speed and rare loot chance (stacks)
Scan target: Skittersquid

 

7. Circuit name: Gourmet Circuit

Description:
Crock Pot food restores more hunger and health.
Requires Warly in the team to craft Honey Crystals.

Crafting recipe:

·         Honey Crystals (crafted by Warly)

·         4 Bio Data

Slot cost: 3
Effect: Boosts Crock Pot food stats (stacks)
Scan target: Beefalo

 

Next are circuits with active abilities bound to the "S" key:

 

8. Circuit name: Electric Discharge Circuit

Description:
Uses 3 charge units to fire an electric projectile 5 tiles forward, dealing 100 damage. Cannot stack or be combined with other active ability circuits.

Crafting recipe:

·         10 Light Bulbs

·         5 Bio Data

Slot cost: 3
Effect: Ranged electric attack (100 damage)
Scan target: Clockwork Bishop

9. Circuit name: Dash Circuit

Description:
Uses 1 charge unit to dash 2 tiles forward. Works with 1 or more charged slots (only 1 energy is used per dash). Cannot stack or be combined with other active ability circuits.

Crafting recipe:

·         2 Gears

·         4 Bio Data

Slot cost: 3
Effect: Dash 2 tiles forward (costs 1 energy)
Scan target: Clockwork Knight
